Month 11

Christmas activities started early this month, with Niks works Christmas party. Finlay loved playing all the party games and the disco, and Lewis loved getting lots of attention from everyone. To continue the Christmas spirit, the next day we went to see Santa and his reindeer with Christina and then had a Christmas party at Danestone that Annie and two other Mums had organised. Forty plus children were very happy when Santa put in an appearance and then burned all their energy off on the bouncy castle. Lewis got to follow Finlay on to the bouncy castle and seemed to really enjoy rolling and bouncing around.

Lewis has been doing a lot of copying Finlay recently. Seemingly, he drew an F on the chalk board and likes standing by the board with a paint brush, obviously having watched his big brother. He is doing more and more cruising of the furniture and his crawling pace seems to have got even faster, even though Annie didn’t think that was possible. He also likes playing peekaboo, hiding under tables, in boxes and in bathrooms!

Finlay had his Christmas nativity play at nursery. Finlay was a shepherd, hence why he had to have a picture of him dressed as a shepherd (rather than an angel) on the top of our tree this year. He had 5 ines to say in the nativity and did brilliantly well, saying them really clearly and loudly; Mummy and Daddy were just glad he didn’t forget them. Finlay had a couple more 4th birthday parties this month and got to have his face painted as Spider-man, while Lewis played in the soft play area.

We once again went to Duthie Park for the Christmas carol concert and Lewis loved shaking bells to the tunes, sometimes even doing it in time. We had a quiet Christmas at home before Steve and Judy joined us for the New Year, where we got to have a wintry walk in the snow, a trip to the beach splashing in the waves, and listening and joining in at a music session in a pub on New Years Day. Great fun was had all round.

Lewis has also had a few taster sessions at nursery, but more on that next month....
