Month 23

Lewis always seems to enjoy swimming sessions and is now blowing bubbles in the water and getting much more confident. Finlay is now doing front crawl by himself and can manage a width and is starting to try breaststroke. Lewis is also getting much more talkative and is joining little phrases together. Lots more parties this month for Christmas. Our annual kids Christmas party that we organise with 2 other families was great fun if a little tiring. The kids are definitely all bigger now. The boys enjoyed their party snacks and meeting Father Christmas.

We had great fun in the garden with Rene, Anke, Chris and Suzanne and Finlay decided Rene needed to watch Wallace and Grommit Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Lewis had his first day without a nap and was literally falling asleep over his tea.

Annie had her end of term fiddle concert and Lewis was enjoying joining in drumming away, he seems to have natural rhythm. Finlay had his own performances a nativity play at Sunflowers his nursery where he was a shepherd and at school nursery where he sang lots of songs beaming away. They both had Christmas parties at nursery too. Funnily enough they both slept really well on the Sleeper on the way down to London. We had a visit to the Science Museum and Lewis got to be Incy Wincy Spider. We then met up with Kerry, Cheryl, Daisy and Isobel for lunch in London, before heading to see Duncan and Verena and the 3 girls. Lewis for some reason took it upon himself to dry Annie's hair.

A trip to Cornwall followed to see Granny and Granddad for Christmas. We had to visit Father Christmas at the Eden Project as Finlay was worried Father Christmas wouldn't know that he was in Cornwall and not in Newmachar. The boys got to go on the ice rink for a play session and enjoyed spinning round on the sledges. We also went to the Maritime Museum where the boys liked dressing up in the lifeboat uniform and climbing in and out of boats, helicopters and rescue gear and Paradise Park where Finlay got to feed the penguins. Before we left Cornwall we met up with some of Annie's school friends at a café where there happened to be a dressing up box which the boys made the most of. And for New Year we headed to the Millers.
