Month 27

Annie, Finlay and Lewis had a trip to Crathes looking for signs of spring unfortunately no-one had told the weather that it was in fact spring. So instead of looking for wriggly worms in the frozen soil we hunted for bits of string tied on trees, made a nest and looked at all the different types of moss as there were no flowers in bud yet.

We met up with Lorna and Christina for a trip to Smugglers Cove a new play den that had opened in Aberdeen and they both enjoyed the imaginary play areas especially the small cinema and vets. While Nik was away for the weekend training for his Quadrathalon event Annie and the boys went to Satrosphere where the theme was Space and Finlay volunteered to be an Astranaut and said the space helmet was super heavy. We also went to a Rhymetime session at Olmeldrum library where Lewis liked listening to the guitar and then to a family yoga session. Finlay liked pretending to be a lion and a snake whereas Lewis seemed rather bemused by the whole thing.

Lewis has decided he likes lots of teddies now he is in a big boy single bed including Stitch the elephant, Peppa Pig, Miss Rabbit and Mummy and baby Winnie the Pooh to name but a few. He is also a little obsessed with babies now and fusses over any he sees. So to distract him for human babies we went to Doonies farm to see the baby lambs. They loved walking around with the buckets of carrots and were very lucky and happy to give the baby calves bottles of milk.

After the school holidays Finlay started at the Gymnastics for 5year old boys and older he was rather impressed that there were no girls at all! After two hours of gymnastics he was certainly ready for a long sleep that night. Lewis is enjoying nursery and has taken to rummaging around in the dressing up box, so we often see him in skirts, high heels and carrying a handbag. One to remind him of aged 18 me thinks. Annie had a girlie trip to Edinburgh with her NCT group leaving all the Dads and kids to it.
