Month 31

We started August with a holiday in Aviemore where we met up with the Millers. We had a go at grass sledging, and paid a visit to the Highland Wildlife Park and Landmark – our usual and favourite Aviemore activities. We also took a trip up the Cairngorm funicular railway and at a mountain bike festival met one of the 2012 olympic british gold medalists.

We had a bumper harvest of vegetables in the garden, Finlay started school and Lewis moved up to a big-boys bed! We also had our annual Summer party this month and we were blessed with good weather, and it was great to see all the children playing on the trampoline, swings and slides, and also a great opportunity to catch up with lots of friends.

Then at the end of the month Nik went to the Dad’s wild-camping trip in Moray, and this time he took both boys for the first time ever. They were well behaved and had an absolute ball playing on the beach, building a campfire, sleeping in a tent over-night and then more fun and games with the other boys and girls before heading home tired out and stinking of bonfire.
