Month 12

After all the Christmas festivities Nik did the Lumphanan detox run on the 2^nd January. After doing no training he managed to get his fastest 10k time. The boys in the meantime had a lovely time on the swings.

We had a birthday party at Hoodles for Leah, one of Finlays nursery friends. And after lots of playing Lewis enjoyed his snack time with his pal Hannah from nursery, and Finlay recouped by eating a giant cupcake. Finlay and Lewis love playing together and Finlay likes pushing Lewis around at toddlers in a Winnie the Pooh push along. We also had lovely birthday teas for Innes's birthday and Christina’s birthday. Then we all had a trip to His Majesty's theatre to see "Beauty and the Beast", at which Lewis really liked all the singing.

Halfway through the month we had a long weekend trip to London. The trip on the sleeper with both boys was thankfully uneventful, although Nik was looking the most bleary eyed in the morning after sharing his bunk with a fidgety Finlay. After visiting Kerry, Cheryl, Daisy and Isobel we met up with the Truscott's and Miller's and went to the Science Museum, Natural History Museum and saw Cirque de Soleil at the Royal Albert Hall. We even managed to have a night out without Finlay and Lewis to see Phantom of the Opera, a very cultured weekend. We also visited Lewis and Finlay's Great Grandma for the day and went to Hampton Court Palace where we followed Paddington's trip around the Palace and maze, as detailed in one of Finlay's story books.

Lewis has continued his settling-in sessions at nursery. Although a little clingy to begin with, once he was introduced to treasure baskets and musical instruments he was much happier and now goes two and a half days a week.
