Month 18

We had our annual musical outing to Stonehaven folk festival. The boys enjoyed their lunch whilst Annie played at a session. And then Finlay took over at the "World Paper and Comb Championship" doing his own special version of "Baa Baa Black Sheep". Annie wasn’t the only one welling up in the audience as everyone was so impressed he went up on the stage on his own in front of nearly hundred people. And he won the first prize in the under 12 category.

We had several trips to Aberdeen with Lewis having an outing with Holly and then with Amelie and then yet another trip with Finlay where they both enjoyed a rather large ice-cream.

We had a night camping at Haughton Country Park with James and Jo Jo, and the other Finlay. Although yet again our rather wet summer continued and we were all wearing full waterproofs. The kids didn’t care and had a lovely time at the play park, the transport museum, the miniature train, and Lewis fitted right in thinking he was a big boy too. And did a good job keeping up with the others playing football.

We got to see "The Twits" performed by Illyria at Crathes Castle, like many of the performances we have seen by them it was a tad soggy but the boys loved it especially when Mr Twit ate worms. Lewis got to go to Boogie Babies, a music class, and liked making lots of noise with the instruments. We also went to a fundraising event for the RNLI where Finlay got his face painted, and didn’t want it washed over until Daddy was home – 4 days later! Thankfully Annie won that argument. The boys are also moving to a nursery at Kingseat on the outskirts of Newmachar. A real outdoorsey nursery we think they are both going to love it. More next month when we return from our week holiday at Centre Parcs with the Millers.
