Month 19

Summer holiday time continues with a trip to Center Parcs in Sherwood Forest with the Miller family. We travelled down in the campervan and the boys loved be in the top bunk together. The boys loved the big swimming pool and the slides. Finlay got to have a balance bike lesson, and although already confident on his bike picked up some good tips, and also had a fencing session, not sure who had the most fun Finlay or Nik. Lewis loved getting cuddles with Alastair and Katie and feeding the ducks with them. On our way back we spent a night with Louise, James and baby Thomas who is a month older than Lewis. The boys had great fun playing together in the garden and doing a geocache trail around the village.

Prior to our annual summer party we had the challenge of digging our trampoline into the ground. No digger for us, just back braking digging with a few massive stones to shift and 6 cubic metres of soil. After 2 days of graft the boys were very happy jumping on the product of our labours. And thankfully so was everyone at the party the following weekend. Although I think the rule of only 1 on a trampoline at a time was well and truly broken with 2 adults and 7 kids on at one point. Lewis was rather taken with Lawrence helping him on the playden and kept going well into the evening. And this year we were blessed with fantastic weather for once.

We also had Finlay and Lewis's old nursery summer party, but unfortunately the weather was not so kind with torrential rain all afternoon. But the boys were happy doing a group sponsored toddle in the rain encouraged by the Teletubbies.

Both boys have settled into their new nursery fine and Annie is loving being able to cycle with the boys on the back of the bike along the old railway line to and from nursery. Now the boys never want to be picked up in the car. Finlay also started at school nursery at the end of the month and is especially enjoying gym on a Friday. Annie is ever optimistic in what she can achieve in the 2-2.5hrs of school nursery.
